Last Tuesday hundreds of volunteers from our community were out in droves helping thousands of our neighbors from 18 cities and towns* pick up groceries for a full Thanksgiving meal as the first major holiday of our year-end Feed-A-Family program. Through Feed-A-Family, our three food pantries provide additional groceries beyond a client’s monthly grocery pickup for complete holiday meals at Thanksgiving and the various December holidays our clients celebrate.
This work wouldn’t happen without the incredible gifts of time from volunteers, gifts of talent from the staff and Board team, and the gifts of treasure from individuals and businesses in our area.
Just one week later, this Tuesday is GivingTuesday, when we celebrate giving and express gratitude for the gifts made by so many of you that make the Feed-A-Family program successful. GivingTuesday is a global movement encouraging everyone to give to make a difference locally and it’s easy to be part of it.
