Individuals, families, co-workers, and friends are all coming together (six feet apart) to support the United Way of Tri-County’s (UWTC) COVID-19 Community Recovery Fund.
Runners and walkers alike can participate in this virtual event any day between Sunday, July 12 and Saturday, July 18.
The $15 registration fee will help make up for some of the losses from UWTC’s events that have been cancelled through the end of the year due to COVID-19. Fundraising events are critical for UWTC to help individuals and families in need.
With many people still working from home and finding more time to get in a daily run or walk, the virtual 5K will make your miles count and help our neighbors affected by the pandemic!
Your registration fee will directly support three food pantries and two community meal programs in the community, as well as the UWTC’s mental health, emotional support, suicide prevention line Call2Talk, and that is really important right now.
If you don’t want to run or walk, that’s okay. You can still register as a fundraiser, buy a custom 5K t-shirt, or donate directly to the United Way’s COVID-19 Recovery Fund.
Race times will be posted online as runners upload their results between July 12-18. While there are no prizes awarded for fastest times, there could be one or two surprise chances to win a token of our appreciation for registered participants!
