The MetroWest Corporate 5K returns to Marlborough

Boston Scientific team wins the MetroWest Corporate 5K Cup

Our MetroWest Corporate 5K returns to Marlborough on May 15th, and we're expecting some fierce competition against two-time defending champions, Boston Scientific.

Anticipation is building now that online registration has opened for this year's event, presented by St. Mary's Credit Union.

Here at the United Way of Tri-County, we're excited to host this night of friendly rivalries and good fun as different companies from all over MetroWest get in some post-workday exercise and networking. The fastest team of two men and two women will win the coveted trophy cup that Boston Scientific, a Marlborough-based global medical technology leader, snatched from Intel in 2023 and won in a repeat last year.

Awards for biggest team and best T-shirt design encourage coworkers to come together and compete for bragging rights. Individuals will win in the fastest male, female and nonbinary categories, but the golden trophy cup is the 5K's top prize.

Sponsorships are starting to come in, and some great opportunities still remain for businesses to raise their brand awareness and support the local community.

"With St. Mary’s Credit Union proudly stepping in as our presenting sponsor and All Town Fresh bringing life to the finish line, this event promises to be an unforgettable evening of team building, camaraderie, and community support—you won’t want to miss it!" says Sandy Baldi, the United Way of Tri-County's Manager of Special Events.

The Corporate 5K is one of our most fun events of the year, and it's all for a great cause.

All proceeds benefit the United Way of Tri-County and our Marlborough Community Cupboard (MCC), since the race starts and ends right outside MCC's food pantry on Rawlins Avenue.

We're thrilled to have Flying Dreams Brewing Co., located right next door, returning as our beverage sponsor. The brewery will donate a portion of beer sales back to the United Way.

The race starts at 6:30pm on Thursday, May 15th, and there will be music, food and plenty of time afterwards for networking, celebrating and congratulating.
