A Message from Paul Mina

As a nation, the United States has faced and overcome many seemingly impossible challenges in our history. We share in the deep sorrow of our neighbors and will continue to unite for equity in our work. The injustices we are witnessing today are a result of systems perpetuated by racial inequity, and we know no community or organization is immune to this. The same systems that promote racial inequities intersect with all our work, impacting hunger, education, health, financial stability, and emotional wellbeing.

There is still a great deal more that must be done to ensure events like the horrible death of George Floyd and so many others become a thing of the past. We stand on the precipice of change in solidarity with people of color in our communities and those working for justice. We see you. We are listening, we are reflecting, and we are learning.

The word “United” in our name means something. How we Live United matters. We work to improve the quality of life for everyone in our community, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or creed. While Americans disagree on many things, at the very core, we must all agree that we are better as a nation when we pull together, shine a light where there is darkness, and work toward a brighter future where every person is treated with dignity and respect.
